KUALA LUMPUR : You’re strolling through Bukit Bintang, unaware you’re being quietly photographed. Moments later, a young man approaches with a freshly printed portrait in hand. This simple gesture has become synonymous with 31-year-old Amirul Ibrahim, better known online as Amirul Ozli, whose candid street photography has won the hearts of Malaysians and amassed more than 200,000 followers and 4.1 million likes on TikTok.
Travelling from his home in Alor Gajah, Melaka to Kuala Lumpur, Amirul photographs everyday people before surprising them with a printed copy of their portrait – free of charge.
