SEBERANG PERAI : The government will allocate RM5 million as part of an initiative to strengthen Bumiputera participation in the semiconductor sector, Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim said. Anwar, who is also the finance minister, said the allocation would be used to help enhance the involvement of Bumiputeras in the supply chain of the high-tech sector.
He said Penang has become the most prominent semiconductor hub in Southeast Asia, with its vibrant electrical and electronics sector helping Malaysia record continuous economic growth.
