AirBorneo fare model prompts rivals to cut prices, says Abang Johari

PETALING JAYA : Sarawak premier Abang Johari Openg says AirBorneo’s planned affordable fare model of RM375 has prompted rival airlines to lower their prices to remain competitive. He said the introduction of Sarawak’s own airline was aimed at giving travellers more options while addressing concerns over rising airfares, especially during peak travel periods, such as festive seasons and school holidays, DayakDaily reported.

“AirAsia and Malaysia Airlines also reduced their airfares when we introduced our RM375 fare (from Kuching to Kuala Lumpur),” he was quoted as saying at a PBB event in Sibu.
