Ayob calls for review of top police officers’ salary grades
The outgoing deputy IGP says the second-in-command of the police force should not be on the same salary scale as subordinates.
PETALING JAYA : Outgoing deputy inspector-general of police Ayob Khan Mydin Pitchay has called for a review of the civil service grade for top officers in the police force. Ayob Khan pointed out that the deputy IGP currently shares the same civil service grade as the directors of the Special Branch and internal security and public order department, even though both come under the command of the deputy IGP.
He said this could make it difficult for the deputy IGP to give orders and assign duties to officers who technically hold the same grade, Berita Harian reported.
