Cabinet proposed widening scope of RCI report on TH, says Zahid
Deputy prime minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi says a broader assessment would show whether recommendations to rehabilitate the pilgrims fund board have been carried out.
PETALING JAYA : The Cabinet has proposed widening the assessment of the royal commission of inquiry report on Lembaga Tabung Haji (TH) to include the period after the pilgrim fund’s new management took over. Deputy prime minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said the original scope, which covered 2014 to 2020, should also consider measures taken after the new management assumed control of TH, Bernama reported.
He said this would allow recovery efforts implemented after the RCI’s investigation period to be assessed alongside the commission’s findings.
