Selangor declares Sept 1 public holiday after Sukma victory

Amirudin said the public holiday was to recognise the contributions of athletes, officials, volunteers and parents, who all played a role in the state’s success.

“As a mark of appreciation to every athlete, official, volunteer and parent who helped throughout the games, I am pleased to declare a special public holiday for the people of Selangor on Sept 1,” he said at the Sukma closing ceremony at Aneka Walkhere.
