The rollout fulfils the automaker's local assembly commitment announced earlier this year at the Global Automotive and Technology Expo (GATE) 2026. The ORA 5 HEV joins the HAVAL H6 HEV and WEY G9 Hi4 PHEV and HEV as part of GWM's locally assembled lineup. According to the company, more than 10,000 GWM vehicles have been assembled in Malaysia to date, with over 1,100 locally assembled WEY G9 units exported to Thailand and Indonesia.
