Gua Musang district police chief Supt Sik Choon Foo said family members of the hikers lodged a police report in Selangor today after they failed to return from their hike on the set date, adding that checks with the Forestry Department showed that the last contact with the group revealed that they were in the forest area in Perak.
“For now, we are dealing with the Perak authorities to secure confirmation as based on their last contact, they were in Perak and no longer in Kelantan,” he said when contacted today, adding that the group had permits to enter the forest and engaged the services of two mountain guides.
