KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia's electrical and electronics (EE) sector has emerged as one of the main beneficiaries of the global supply chain restructuring triggered by the escalation of US tariffs in April 2025.

UOB Global Economics & Markets Research said the renewed decoupling between the United States and China has accelerated the diversion of Chinese exports to alternative markets, particularly across Asia.
In a macroeconomic note, the firm said Asean has been among the biggest winners from the supply chain realignment, with manufacturing-driven economies such as Vietnam, Thailand and Malaysia recording the strongest gains.
