KUALA LUMPUR: Bursa Malaysia Bhd may face a softer second half as equity trading activity slows amid election-related uncertainty and geopolitical risks, CIMB Securities Sdn Bhd said.

Analyst Ei Leen Tan said the decline in average daily value (ADV) to below RM3 billion in July indicates investors remain cautious despite structural initiatives aimed at strengthening the local capital market.
"We expect equity ADV to moderate to around RM2.65 billion in the second half from RM3.5 billion in the first half amid general election-related uncertainty and ongoing geopolitical risks," Tan said in a note.
