KUALA LUMPUR: Malayan Banking Bhd (Maybank) is targeting a mid-teens return on equity (ROE) for its insurance and takaful business by 2030 after acquiring full ownership of Maybank Ageas Holdings Bhd.

From the original report

Its president and group chief executive officer Datuk Seri Khairussaleh Ramli said Maybank Ageas' ROE currently stands at about 12.3 per cent, while the transaction is expected to be immediately accretive to Maybank's net profit, earnings per share and ROE.

He said the acquisition would also provide greater flexibility to manage capital within the insurance group.

This is a brief of a report by another newsroom. The excerpt below is from the original.
