Top 10pct of formal workers earn at least RM11,500 a month

According to the Statistics Department, employees in the bottom 10 per cent received a monthly wage of RM1,700 or less, while those in the 90th percentile earned at least RM11,500 per month.

The department also reported that 7.9 per cent of Malaysian formal employees earned below RM1,700 a month in March 2026, a decrease of two percentage points from the corresponding month last year.
