KUALA LUMPUR: The Royal Commission of Inquiry (RCI) into Tabung Haji (TH) has recommended restructuring the institution's governance framework, including separating oversight responsibilities between the minister responsible for religious affairs and the finance minister.
The commission said the proposed arrangement would ensure clearer accountability, with the Religious Affairs Minister responsible for matters related to hajj management, while the Finance Minister would oversee financial matters, funds and investments.
The recommendation formed part of 25 proposed reforms outlined in the RCI report, which examined TH's management and operations between 2014 and 2020.
