MACC proposes six governance reforms to strengthen cooking oil subsidy scheme
PUTRAJAYA: The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission has proposed six governance improvements to strengthen the implementation of the Cooking Oil Price Stabilisation Scheme (COSS), aimed at tightening controls over the country's subsidised cooking oil programme and reducing leakages.
The recommendations were presented by MACC's Governance Investigation Division following a review of the scheme implemented under the Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Ministry.
Division director Datuk Mohd Zaki Hassan said the review focused on policy and quota management, licensing and permits, supply and distribution, sales and subsidy claims, monitoring and enforcement, as well as the effectiveness of the eCOSS system.
