KUALA LUMPUR: The Auditor General was barred from examining Datuk Seri Najib Razak's bank accounts during its audit of 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB), the High Court heard today.

Former Public Accounts Committee (PAC) member Tony Pua said the restriction, coupled with 1MDB's failure to provide key documents, significantly limited the audit's scope.
Testifying in 1MDB's US$5.64 billion civil suit against Najib and seven others, Pua said the Auditor General had to rely solely on 1MDB's audited financial statements and supporting documents provided by the company's external auditors.
