Singapore: No construction waste exported for disposal in Johor

KUALA LUMPUR: Singapore does not allow construction and demolition (CD) waste to be exported for disposal, its National Environment Agency (NEA) says following reports of such waste being dumped illegally in Pontian, Johor.

NEA said it had contacted the Johor Solid Waste and Public Cleansing Management Corporation (SWCorp) to seek more information on C&D waste reportedly originating from Singapore.
"During the call with SWCorp, NEA affirmed that Singapore does not allow C&D waste to be exported for disposal," it said in response to queries from The Straits Times on Aug 18.
