KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has approved an additional RM2.8 million allocation this year to repair basic infrastructure at 14 Islamic education institutions in Kedah.

Anwar, who is also finance minister, said the allocation was aimed at ensuring students could study in a more comfortable and safe environment.
"The government will continue to uphold the eminence of Islam by strengthening Islamic education institutions and fostering the study and understanding of hadith in society," he said in a Facebook post today.
