TANGKAK: An eatery assistant lost RM170,000 after falling victim to a scammer posing as a police officer who accused her of money laundering.

District police chief Superintendent Roslan Mohd Talib said the 51-year-old woman received a call from the suspect at 10.24am on July 8 and was told she was linked to illegal activities.
Roslan said the suspect then tricked the victim into making payments purportedly for investigation purposes.
