GEORGE TOWN: Schools in areas recording unhealthy Air Pollutant Index (API) readings in Penang have been told to suspend all outdoor activities.

Penang Education Department director Mohamad Dziauddin Mat Saad said the Air Pollutant Index Management System (APIMS) recorded an unhealthy reading at the Minden station this afternoon.
He said schools in affected areas would continue operating as usual, but all outdoor activities would be suspended as a precautionary measure in line with Education Ministry guidelines.
