Velocity FC girls gain new perspective after training with blind football team

That was the experience for 16 players from Velocity FC Girls, aged between 13 and 22, when they put on blackout eye shades and joined the national blind football team for a session at the National Sports Complex in Bukit Jalil.

For players accustomed to relying on their vision to find space, judge distances and anticipate what happens next, the exercise offered an immediate insight into how difficult those basic elements of football become when sight is removed.
