Penang To Auction Tanjung Pinang Land To Help Complete RM850 Million Bypass
The Penang government will auction a 2.42-hectare plot in Tanjung Pinang next month, with proceeds to help Consortium Zenith Construction generate cash flow for the remaining works on the Ayer Itam-Tun Dr Lim Chong Eu Expressway bypass.
The move comes after the project's contractor, Consortium Zenith Construction Sdn Bhd (CZC), approached the state government for assistance to monetise the land and generate the cash flow needed to complete the project by April 2027.
Malay Mail Online reported that Penang State Infrastructure, Transport and Digital Committee chairman Zairil Khir Johari said the state agreed to the auction after CZC sought assistance to finance the project.
