A RETIRED secondary school history teacher has been ordered to pay RM88,069 in damages after the Kota Bharu High Court found that he assaulted a 14-year-old student by slapping him four times during a classroom lesson seven years ago.

Judge Mohd Rosli Yusoff allowed the civil suit filed by Mohamad Adam Maidin, now 21, through his mother, Noor Azleen Mohamad, 47, against the teacher and three other defendants.
