AI could become Malaysia’s next productivity engine — from SMEs to public services

ARTIFICIAL Intelligence (AI) could become a powerful new engine of productivity for Malaysia, helping businesses reduce costs, enabling workers to focus on higher-value tasks and allowing the Government to deliver public services more efficiently.

The opportunity extends far beyond technology companies and data centres, says 27 Group Founder Girish Mavath Ramachandran. "AI could be deployed across farms, plantations, factories, hospitals, logistics companies, tourism operators, government agencies and small businesses, allowing Malaysia to generate more value from its existing workforce, land, infrastructure and capital.
