The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) said the warning covers parts of Perlis, Kedah, Perak, Kelantan, Terengganu, Pahang, Selangor, Johor, Sarawak and Sabah.

In Peninsular Malaysia, affected areas include Padang Terap, Kuala Muda, Sik, Baling, Kulim and Bandar Baharu in Kedah; Kerian, Larut, Matang dan Selama, Hulu Perak, Kuala Kangsar, Kinta, Kampar, Batang Padang and Muallim in Perak; most parts of Kelantan and the whole of Terengganu.
