KUALA LUMPUR: A group of 16 Malaysian tourists who were in areas affected by a magnitude 7.7 earthquake on Flores Island in East Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia, were confirmed safe and in good health.

In a media advisory on Saturday, the Foreign Ministry said the Malaysian Embassy in Jakarta had established contact with the group following the earthquake, which struck northeast of Mbay in Nagekeo Regency at 4.58am local time.
