KUALA LUMPUR: The risk of major flooding during the Melaka election, expected in November, is low, but monsoon surges must be monitored, a meteorologist says.

Universiti Malaya (UM) meteorologist Professor Emeritus Datuk Dr Azizan Abu Samah said November marked the start of the Northeast Monsoon, which generally brought more rain, but this did not necessarily mean flooding in Melaka.
